Installation

• Download PowerSHAPE-e and install.

• The first time that you run the program, right mouse click on the desktop shortcut created by the installation process and select 'Run as administrator'. (This ensures that PowerSHAPE-e will register the password that you will enter in the next step)

• Enter your password in the box provided to finish the installation.

Getting Started

• The browser window in PowerSHAPE (Help->Getting Started) contains a welcome page explaining how to learn PowerSHAPE, a learning assistant, on-line help, and a set of tutorials.

• Download the Help Manual and Tutorials using the tabs at the left of this page.

• You can also meet up with other PowerSHAPE-e users on the user forum at forum.delcam.com. It's free to join, and is a great place to swap models, or share tips and tricks. Many of PowerSHAPE-e's developers are members of the forum, so you also get the chance to 'Meet the Experts'.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

PowerSHAPE-e will run on any computer that can run Microsoft Windows Professional from Vista onwards.

Importing CAD Models Into PowerSHAPE-e

PowerSHAPE-e can import Parasolid™ XT files directly. To import any other CAD format file, you will need Delcam Exchange. This is available separately, and is free to use alongside PowerSHAPE-e.

Exporting PowerSHAPE-e Models to Other Systems

Exporting data from PowerSHAPE-e requires a Delcam Exchange voucher. The special vouchers for PowerSHAPE-e cost £50 (click to see the price in your own currency). Each voucher can be used as many times as you want, as long as you do not change the original model. Only the special vouchers will allow export from PowerSHAPE-e; standard Exchange vouchers will not work, even if you have a full Exchange licence.

For users who need to export models on a regular basis, or for schools, colleges and universities, special licence arrangements are available that allow multiple vouchers to be pre-paid at a discount.
