Delcam CRISPIN hosts first seminar in Hanoi for Vietnam footwear industry

More than 50 delegates attended the Delcam CRISPIN seminar in Hanoi

Delcam CRISPIN’s Vietnamese office held its first seminar in Hanoi for the footwear industry at the end of April. The event, which was organised in conjunction with LEFASO, the Vietnam Leather & Footwear Association, attracted more than fifty delegates, including representatives of the leading footwear manufacturers from the region and staff from the city’s educational establishments.

Delcam CRISPIN is the world’s largest supplier of CADCAM software to the footwear industry and is the only supplier able to provide a complete 3D solution for the design and manufacture of lasts, uppers and soles.  The company is targeting increased sales in Vietnam and made two new appointments last year, Nguyen Van Van as Applications Engineer and Than Phung as Sales Engineer, to support its business in the country.

At the seminar, delegates were given demonstrations of the latest versions of the ShoeMaker 3D design software, the Engineer Pro system for pattern development and grading, and the ShoeCost program for cost prediction and control.

ShoeMaker is the only program to integrate the design of both uppers and soles in 3D, so allowing the complete shoe to be developed and visualised simultaneously.  This is of particular benefit to companies making sports shoes and other designs with complex soles.

The 2014 version of ShoeMaker offers improved visualisation of designs with the KeyShot rendering engine, the ability to create lasts for boot designs, more options for heel design, and additional items in the extensive library of accessories supplied with the software.

Engineer Pro helps users to produce 2D samples and graded footwear patterns for manufacturing in the fastest possible time, whilst also assisting in the management of tooling costs.  The latest version includes a number of enhancements that add "intelligence” to the software and so make it more intuitive and faster to use.

ShoeCost 2014 provides a clear breakdown of all the costs involved in footwear manufacture, making it easy to compare the actual cost of the shoe to the target cost.  It offers a more intuitive interface and integrates more closely with other Delcam CRISPIN packages to streamline the design and manufacturing process, whilst still giving manufacturers better control over costs and profitability.

Commenting on the seminar, Delcam Crispin Business Development Manager for Asia, Graham Vollans, said "We were very pleased with the attendance at our first seminar in Hanoi and with the positive response of the delegates.  Footwear manufacturing in Vietnam is showing significant growth and we are keen to support the development of this business across the country.”
