Delcam targets Vietnam footwear industry with new appointments
Delcam is targeting increased sales to the footwear industry in Vietnam with two new appointments, Nguyen Van Van as Applications Engineer and Than Phung as Sales Engineer, at its Delcam Vietnam representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. Initially, they will support sales of the Delcam CRISPIN range of software for the design and manufacture of all types of footwear in Vietnam but later their responsibilities will extend to Cambodia and Laos.
Delcam CRISPIN is the world’s largest supplier of CADCAM software to the footwear industry and is the only supplier able to provide a complete 3D solution for the design and manufacture of lasts, uppers and soles.
Nguyen Van Van has seventeen years’ experience as a CADCAM engineer. Twelve years of that time has been spent in the footwear industry, with part spent working for Delcam’s reseller USMC. He is a Batchelor of Mechanical Engineering and proficient in Chinese and English as well as Vietnamese.
Than Phung has spent four years in business development in the footwear industry in Vietnam and Cambodia, including experience with Coats Phong Phu, a UK company supplying sewing thread and zips to the apparel and footwear sectors. She has an Economic Batchelor’s Degree in Industrial Management and also speaks Chinese and English as well as Vietnamese.
Commenting on the appointments, Delcam Crispin Business Development Manager for Asia, Graham Vollans, said "Footwear manufacturing in Vietnam is showing all the signs of significant growth. We needed more people in the country to drive up our sales and to provide local support to our growing number of customers. The new staff will work closely with our local resellers to maximise the opportunity this growth presents.”
