Delcam adds CADCAM veteran for FeatureCAM sales in Michigan
Delcam has strengthened its USA sales team with the appointment of Arthur Schmidt as Sales Manager for the FeatureCAM feature-based CAM system in Michigan and northern Ohio. Mr. Schmidt is a well-known and highly respected veteran of the CADCAM industry with more than 25 years’ experience in selling manufacturing and architectural software.
After spending the opening five years of his career designing circuit boards for the Hammond Organ Company, Mr. Schmidt entered the CADCAM industry in 1979 as a trainer for CADDS 4X software with ComputerVision Corporation. He moved into sales with ComputerVision in 1982, at a time when the typical cost of software, a mainframe computer and training was in excess of $500k. After a period as National Sales Manager for Ashlar, Mr. Schmidt ran his own company for fourteen years, as an authorised reseller for Ashlar Vellum, Alias Wavefront, MasterCAM and VX CAM software.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Cadogan, Vice-President, Sales at Delcam North America, said, "We are extremely fortunate to have been able to add Arthur to our sales team. He has enormous experience of our industry that will be of great benefit to our customers.”
The appointment comes at a time of rapid growth in the popularity of Delcam’s software in North America, with sales up by 22% in the region over the opening six months of the year. "We are already on the way to another record year and are expecting a further boost to our level of enquiries at IMTS in September,” predicted Mr. Cadogan. "Arthur’s appointment will allow us to help more companies that want to increase their productivity and profitability with our software.”
