Metrology Product Specialist (Graduate Level) Location: Birmingham, UK Ref No: MET_PS_GRAD

The Metrology Product Specialist Team is seeking to recruit a Technical Applications Engineer for a flexible position covering technical sales support, and technical marketing, within our global sales network. Working in a team environment, the role covers all aspects of metrology and part measurement using our software products. Working predominantly with our PowerINSPECT product, you will apply your knowledge to a variety of portable measurement devices, coordinate measurement machines, and machining centres equipped with 3D measurement probes.

Your role will include: -

  • Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the Global Sales, Product Specialist, and Applications Teams.
  • Delivering formal presentations at user group meetings, seminars, webinars, and any other event as required, to demonstrate the benefits of our software and how to solve application problems.
  • Supporting Customers using our internal support tools, and with on-site visits when necessary.

  • Already be working in an Engineering role within a company after gaining a good Engineering degree, or successfully completing an approved Engineering Apprenticeship scheme.

Key Responsibilities

The new employee will be responsible for providing all pre and post sales technical support activities, such as demonstrations, benchmarks, software training, technical talks on the various Delcam software products sold in Brazil. Such activities can take place at the Autodesk Brazil offices, at customer sites, and at sites where marketing events take place.

  • University or technical degree, with minimum of 12 month industry experience, in programming using CADCAM software
  • Experienced with CAD/CAM/Metrology software in the design and manufacturing sectors, preferably with Delcam software products
  • Experience in designing from customer specifications, using CAD, with understanding of engineering and manufacture drawings is desirable
  • Practical “hands on” experience of working on the shop floor, producing CAM programs is desirable
  • Understanding of the standard principles of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Strong in analysing and providing appropriate solutions to technical challenges
  • Outgoing personality with good verbal and written communication skills – at both personal and technical levels
  • Good command of spoken and written English language
  • Confident, innovative, creative and pro-active
  • Ability to work with minimum of management supervision
  • Organised and methodical in the logging of technical support calls and in the reporting for any development technical requirements
  • Availability to travel within Mexico and internationally, with overnight stays when on-site training, customer support visits, marketing events, and training so dictate
